The Story Behind LODE
Vanessa is a Practitioner by trade. With a bachelor's degree from Concordia University in Montreal in Athletic Therapy and a Master's degree in Physiotherapy from Brunel University in London, she has a front row seat to runner's injuries, needs and patterns.
Through her practice she noticed that runners from all distances struggled with managing volume. An inconsistent volume, or a mismanaged return to running after a break very often leads to pain. The tools exist, but are inaccessible, or difficult to use.
The idea for LODE came from fixing her own problem in physiotherapy practice. Can we not do better than calculating load on a spreadsheet? What tools do practitioners have to help return patients to loading safely? How can I track my load, internal and external to prevent injury to begin with? How can we really know the effect of one run on the body? Anyone who's ever run, even sporadically, can tell you that 5km does not always feel the same. There are so many factors inside and outside that affect the real difficulty of a run on the body. This is what LODE calculates and translates to actionable recommendations.
For the professionals, we take real data from fitness wearables, and bring them to you, while giving you tools to make this data actionable. For the patients, we calculate the load that specific runs generate, and prescribe a tailored plan that adjusts to your needs. From frequency, to planning period, to target training phase, this is personalized to YOUR goals, YOUR frequency, and YOUR real data.
Why Runners Trust LODE
Training intelligence
Measure
LODE combines distance, speed, and heart-rate data to understand the real demand of every session.
Understand
Acute and chronic load trends reveal whether your training is progressing safely or becoming excessive.
Adapt
Recommendations continuously adjust according to what you actually do and how your body responds.
Evidence-Based Training Intelligence

What Makes LODE Unique
Building consistent running performance takes more than just logging miles and tracking pace. You need smart load management, evidence-based insights, and injury prevention tools.
We calculate your Acute:Chronic Workload Ratio (ACWR), monitor training stress balance, and provide personalized recommendations based on your data.
Track training intensity, volume, and ACWR metrics to optimize performance while minimizing injury risk
Get alerts when your training load enters high-risk zones based on evidence-based ACWR thresholds
Receive tailored feedback and recommendations based on your unique training patterns and history
Automatic data sync with Garmin (Apple coming soon) no manual entry required
Stay in control of your training while we handle the complex calculations,
risk assessments, and progress tracking.
